Self Watering Spike FAQ
Everything people ask before they buy. Still unsure? Email us any time and we’ll help you pick the right size.
Will a self watering spike fit my pot?+−
Medium suits pots 150mm+ in diameter and Large suits pots 250mm+. Insert the spike near the plant’s base, allowing roughly 50mm clearance from the pot wall.
How long does one refill last?+−
Typically 1.5–2 weeks for indoor plants. Timing varies with plant type, pot size, soil, light levels, and room temperature.
What plants does a self watering spike suit?+−
Best for indoor plants that like consistent, even moisture — monsteras, peace lilies, philodendrons, ficus, calatheas and many tropicals. It is not recommended for succulents or cacti that prefer drying out between watering.
How do I clean and refill the reservoir?+−
The glass reservoir is fully removable — lift it out, rinse with warm water, refill through the funnel opening, and pop it back in. No tools, no mess.
Can I replace the cotton wick?+−
Yes. The natural cotton wick is designed to be replaceable for long-term use. When it is time, get in touch and we will sort you a replacement.
Can I use the spike outdoors?+−
Yes, in mild conditions. For best longevity we recommend indoor or sheltered use, and bringing it inside during freezing weather.
How much is shipping and when will it arrive?+−
$8 flat-rate Australia-wide. Each piece is made to order in our Kembla Grange, NSW studio — please allow 4–5 business days for production before it ships, with tracking by email.
